The idea
Rage rooms are a real thing: you pay to go into a room full of old stuff and smash it. Rage Pit puts that in a browser tab. It's free, there's no account, and it takes a few seconds to go from the link to hitting things. There are 4 rooms (living room, office, kitchen, bathroom), 9 weapons and 4 ways to play, including a boss fight against a piñata.

Making a hit feel good
Most of the work went into how it feels when you hit something. Every object breaks its own way: glass shatters, screens crack, pots clang, furniture ends up as a pile of rubble. Each weapon, from the hammer to the frying pan to the keyboard, has its own swing and its own sound. Tap to hit, hold for a power swing, and let go at the right moment for a PERFECT.

Fixing what felt wrong
The first version looked flat, like smashing a picture. Tilting the rooms to a three-quarter view gave them depth, and that's when it started to work. Phones got their own room layouts. The page also used to freeze while the 3D room loaded, so now the 3D only loads when you're about to play, and there's a low-graphics switch for older phones.
What I kept out
No account, no ads, no tracking. Your scores and trophies stay in your own browser. At the bottom there's a small note pointing to free helplines, because smashing a virtual TV is fun, but it isn't real help.
